In Language Arts class today, the students wrote their Story Elements Quiz to assess their understanding and ability to identify the elements within a story. For the quiz, the students were asked to silently read a short story. I gave them a copy of The Hockey Sweater written by Roch Carrier ( a very famous French Canadian author). It's a classic and beloved tale of Roch's childhood and the passion that French-Canadian's have for the sport of hockey and particularly their obsession with the Montreal Canadians.
I found the animated film on Youtube, that is told by Roch Carrier himself (cute Francophone accent and all).
Enjoy!
